How to become a living historian
Saturday, November 4th, 2006If you have been thinking about becoming a wwii living historian we welcome you with open arms. Our cause is always in need of more enthusiastic members to bolster our ranks. The passion we have for our hobby is a pleasure to transfer to new members.

The first and most important thing you need to have is a true desire to honor our veterans and their cause. Our purpose is to learn and pass that knowledge on the the public. To teach others of the experiences of our veterans. If you feel you have this then you need to find an organization to join. There are many regional and a few national organizations you can become a part of. The Internet is a great place to start your search. There are groups all over the country. Their size can be anywhere from 5 members to over 40. The largest national organization is the “WWII Historical Re-enactment Society“. Here is a list of their local units.
When you have selected a unit to join you need to start your collection. Becoming a living historian can become a very costly endeavor. Depending on the scope of your interest and the size of your pocketbook. Here are a few stores online to help you get your collection started.
