The forgotten effort of women in war
Sunday, October 25th, 2009We obviously hear about the efforts and sacrifices of the fighting men in WWII. Normally when people think of women in WWII they think of Rosie the Riveter. Yes an enormous number of women worked the factories on all sides of the war. What is often forgotten is the huge number of other roles women played from pilots to farmers to fighters, women gave their all for their countries. This gallery from Life magazine does an amazing job in capturing their efforts.
